Note that only one of the recordings from NTRS 1984 is in CD format in this series. Digitised audio copies of all recordings from NTRS 1984 are available in NTRS 3164 Items BWF 372 - BWF 378.

Function / Content

This series consists of a reference copy (on compact disk) of sound recordings of an oral history interview conducted by Francis Good (Northern Territory Archives Service) on behalf of Buku Larrngay Art and Craft Centre (Yirrkala) with Yolngu speakers who spoke their own language on cultural and historical matters relating to the outstation movement. Members of Aboriginal communities should be advised that reference may be made in these records to people of Aboriginal descent who are now deceased. This series may contain references to Aboriginal people who have died, which may cause sadness and distress to their relatives. No offence has been intended by making these records available. Care and discretion should be used when viewing these records.
